KIDS Inc’s KIDS Church will be happening in the gym this evening from 7-9pm.  There will be fun and games, kids’ worship and a Bible lesson.

At the same time we’ll also have worship, teaching, fellowship, communion and prayer upstairs at 66 Books in Horizon Hall.

The book of the Bible will be Book 15: Ezra.  Here are the notes:

John 1

Today we begin the Gospel of John.  This Gospel differs somewhat from the first three, as it was written later and used by John to fill in some gaps in the life of Jesus that the others had not included in their stories.  While all four Gospels tell of the miracles Christ performed, John spends more time on the teaching or events that took place in conjunction with the miracles.  In so doing he fills the miracles with meaning.

Jesus is introduced to us as the Word, who was with God and was God from the beginning – a testimony to the deity of Christ.  We’ll also meet John the Baptist, Christ’s relative, who declares Him to be “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”  Both John the Baptist and Nathanael, an early follower of Jesus, quickly conclude that He is the “Son of God.”

Today’s notes and a recording of the message can be found on the Notes & mp3s page.

Friday Hang Time, Saturday Floor Hockey

Friday Night:  The doors open at 7;30pm for Hang Time and you are invited.  It’s a great opportunity to share Christ’s love with a precious bunch of city kids on the near South Side of Indy.  Get there early, say 7pm, if you are volunteering so you can be there for prayer before things get started.  See you later!

Saturday Afternoon:    2pm     Floor Hockey in the gym at Old School #18.  Dads and kids both welcome.   Guys, bring your sticks if you have them.  We have a few extras if you don’t.   It’s always a fun time.  Shin guards or other protection of of some kind can help, but is absolutely not necessary.  Most everyone plays without it – with no regrets.
